Meyers 2 burn in the Green Swamp Preserve

Yesterday we did a controlled burn in our Green Swamp Preserve.  The burn unit was called Meyers 2; you can check out the location on our Google map.  The burn ran late into the evening and the only shots I got all day were these after dark.  It was amazing and the photos don’t do much justice to the eerie small blazes burning in the smokey savanna.

The burn overall was a success, about 120 acres burned, and accomplished all of our ecological goals.

Stay tuned for more!
